I shudder as I want

What greed we have
is it in our bones interred
What lust for power
how much can our souls endure
What good our mortal bodies be
beneath the cloak of skin lies painless misery
What want can surpass this insurmountable urge
Are we gone so far to requiem a purge
How much power to stop the salivating ?
How much lust to stop the pain
How much greed to stem the want
how much more can we want, want. want
What greed we have, tis in our bones interred
Is there hope I wonder, I shudder, I endure.
